Patch testing & AllergiesUpdated 17 days ago

What is a patch test & why do I need to do one?

A patch test is a way of finding out with you're allergic to a new product you will be using on your skin.

Why is patch testing important?

A patch test is always important to carry out whenever you are using a new product on your skin or hair. Only a small amount of product will be used during the patch test so the reaction (if you have one) should be contained to only a small area.

How to perform a patch test?

The process of performing a patch test is quite simple, just follow these easy steps!

1. Pick an area of the body to perform your patch test and ensure it is clear of any other products (we suggest the inner elbow or behind the ear)

2. Take a small amount of the product you are wanting to test and apply it to the washed & dried area you have chosen.

3. Let the product absorb into your skin for a few minutes and then place a small plaster or dressing over the area to ensure the product does not get removed.

4. Leave for 48 hours

5. After 48 hours remove the dressing and take a look to see if your skin has reacted (to see if your skin has reacted you are looking for itching, redness or swelling), gently wash the area.

If you experience an allergic reaction to any of our products, please stop using them immediately and consult with a medical professional. We instruct customers to conduct a patch test for all products before beginning full use to ensure compatibility with your skin. If a reaction occurs, inform us promptly and provide images if possible, along with additional information such as any known allergies and confirmation from a doctor or pharmacy.

We extensively test our products to ensure their safety for all skin types, but individual sensitivities can vary. Your health and safety are our top priorities.
